Why I hate fancy moves

best moves in soccer

We all love a great tutorial on a soccer move that looks cool, and we can watch over and over. And while we are watching, we are so enthralled with it and feel like we need to learn that move to be successful. And I’m here to tell you that success will not be dependent on learning flashy moves.  I’m here to tell you to stop attempting to learn these moves. That time will be better spent learning practical skill sets of the game.

1. You rarely see these moves performed in matches.

When you're watching soccer, or playing, you rarely see a move that is so difficult that you actually can't believe you just witnessed that. This is because pros don't care to do moves like this because of the risk and ineffectiveness. Take a second right now and think back to the last time you saw a difficult move? Pros do the little things well, and they don't complicate the game. Pros will focus on their technical ability first and foremost, and also get a grasp of the tactical part of the game, that's it. The more you complicate the game, the more you will struggle.

2. You’re concentrating on the wrong things.

If you are focused on trying difficult moves, and you're a center back, you're in trouble. That skills required to be useful as a center back will never require a rainbow or a snake. In the position, you must be tactically and technically sound because you will be going up against strikers who want to exploit your weaknesses and score goals. Start concentrating on the right things and the only way to do that is by asking coaches and people who know the game. Once you ask questions, its time to reflect and be honest with yourself and where you're as a player. It's okay if you aren't the player you want to be, but it's not okay to lie to yourself and make excuses.Wasting time

3. Wasting time

Your time is valuable, the earlier you understand this, the better you'll be down the road. If you constantly aren't making time for the things you say are important to you, you'll never be the player you say you want to be and every other player will pass you. If you aren't focused and haven't written goals down, you'll stay in this never-ending cycle. Remember, there is always someone out there working harder than you. Since you know that information, you have two options: 1. Do nothing and make that your reality, or 2. Take action and commit to achieving your dreams!
