The Biggest Challenge Players Face In Soccer

Soccer is a challenging game that requires immense concentration and attention to detail. Throughout my career, I faced plenty of setbacks but always learned from these situations. I wanted to make a video of the biggest challenges I faced as a player so you can have a vantage point in your career if you're ever faced with these challenges!

1. Training like the game

Training is essential and vital for a players success. What I found most difficult at the time was training like it was a game. The game and the theatrics made it easy to play well. The crowd, cheering, etc., made it fun to play. I was always impressed with my teammates that did. Those teammates were some of the best I've played with and had great careers because of it. When going to training, do your best to train like it is your last match. Go out there and know at the end of the day you gave it your all.

2. Confidence

Confidence is vital, and any great player will tell you this day in and day out. If you want to fire on all cylinders, you need to put a high priority on working at believing in your ability no matter what. Confidence comes from getting to practice early, leaving late, and working on the craft at all times. Once you get to the point of stepping on the field knowing you can't be stopped, it's a beautiful thing!

3. Mental Toughness

Soccer is just as much physical as it is mental and those who understand that earlier will be years ahead. The game is a grind, and it will knock you down sometimes. It's those who can recover from setbacks; they will be stronger going forward because they are being tested. Soccer is going to test you, and you have to be healthy. Tough times don't last, only tough people.

4. Handling the moment

You keep score in soccer because people want to win. Sometimes the magnitude of the game is too big, and you find yourself coming up short because the moment is too big. When nerves are high, you have to do your best to calm them. Staying in your body is key and will give you the best chance to stay in your body. If you need to listen to music, meditate, whatever, make sure you have a clear mind!
